When I was there recently, someone introduced a group of believers to me by saying, “Three years ago, no one in their community had ever heard of Jesus’ love. These are the first people to understand Christ’s gift.” It was such a joy and surprise to hear that.
It always amazes me to see people from so many backgrounds who have come to know our Lord. I keep wishing that somehow I could visit each one of their villages and stay with them for the rest of my life.
But the reality is, I can’t—that’s not what God has called me to do. That’s not how God has called me to reach them.
But He has called me—and you—to be a part of their lives.
God is so good to let us stand with brothers and sisters who are sharing God’s love with those in some of the most remote places. I think of Gospel for Asia national missionaries such as Peter, who moved to a slum and lived like the people there so he could reach them with the hope of Jesus’ love.
I think of men and women like you, my brothers and my sisters. You have given of your life, through prayer and sacrificial giving, so missionaries like Peter can go to such remote places and continue pressing on, no matter what challenges or discouragements come their way.
Thank you so much for your continued investment of prayers and support. Though now we cannot see all the Lord is doing, I hope this issue of Harvest gives you a glimpse into the lives of the countless men and women who are coming to know of Jesus’ love through your obedience to His call.
